Who can become a member?

You can become a member if you

  • can provide evidence of an interest in ophthalmic oncology and a willingness to contribute to the OOG and
  • are a clinician working with ophthalmic oncology patients or a non-clinician performing laboratory work or research related to ophthalmic oncology


What types of membership are there?

  • You are considered a Candidate Member on making a formal application to the OOG Committee until a decision is made about your eligibility. This requires your application to be accepted by members at a business meeting of the OOG.
  • Once your application has been accepted, you will become a Full Member.
  • If you are a non-clinical worker with an interest in eye tumours you can become a Consultant Member, with the same rights and privileges as Full Members, except that Consultant Members cannot form the majority in the OOG committee.


What are the benefits of OOG membership?

  • Discounted registration fees at OOG meetings
  • Contacts with other OOG members
  • Multicentre research collaboration


How do I apply to become a member of the OOG?

You can apply by

  • writing to the Honorary Secretary, who will send you an application form or
  • online by visiting the OOG website and completing the registration form.


You will need to ask two OOG members to sponsor you and to verify your details.


How much does it cost to be an OOG member?

Currently, the cost is 30 per year.


How do I pay my membership fees?

You can pay:

  • in cash to the Treasurer, at an OOG meeting
  • by using Paypal, clicking on the relevant button in the OOG website HERE.
